Ashley Nicole Nolan, 28, of Lexington Park, was found guilty on six charges, including grossly negligent manslaughter by motor vehicle, life-threatening injury while driving under the influence, and driving under the influence while transporting minors, according to St. Mary’s County State’s Attorney Jaymi Sterling.
She now faces up to 22 years in prison.
Nolan was behind the wheel of a 2008 Honda Odyssey on March 16, 2024, when she failed to negotiate a turn on Point Lookout Road in Leonardtown, sending the vehicle flipping multiple times before slamming into a tree around 1:45 a.m., investigators said.
Three juveniles inside the car were not properly restrained, police said. Two were ejected and suffered life-threatening injuries, while a third child was rushed to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital and pronounced dead.
Nolan, who only suffered minor injuries, was later found to be intoxicated at the time of the crash, investigators said.
Following a months-long investigation, a grand jury indicted Nolan on 18 counts in October 2024, including multiple manslaughter and DUI charges.
She has remained behind bars since her arrest and will continue to be held without bond until sentencing, when she will face more than two decades in prison officials said.
